About our congregation

Pauluskirche Traunreut
Pauluskirche Traunreut
Our congregation has about 3.050 members and two pastors. We belong to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria (ELKB).

Our church (Pauluskirche / St. Pauls’ Church) is located in the city center of Traunreut, a small town between Munich and Salzburg.

About 40-80 persons attend the weekly service on Sunday at 9.30 am. We provide liturgical services and once in a month a modern service.

Please contact us if you’re planning to visit us – if you tell us early enough, we can provide the sermon to you in English.

Our church is daily open for personal quiet time, prayer and meditation:
… from March to October: 8.00 am to 8.00 pm
… from November to February: 8.00 am to 5.00 pm

The congregation is led by the church council (10 members, elected for 6 years) and the pastors. The church council meets once a month. About 150 volunteers support us with practical help. We have got many groups, teams and courses where people can meet.

The pastors are responsible for the Sunday service, prepare the sermon and coordinate the activities of the congregation. Confirmation class, courses and counselling of church members are part of their work as well as funerals, baptisms, weddings and administrative tasks. The pastors teach religion in public schools.
